Dear Families,
Should your travels take you to Spanish speaking countries, please keep your eyes open for authentic material that we might use in the classroom to support our units. Any donations would be appreciated - items which are free of cost and light weight are the best! For example, coins left over from a trip are wonderful to use as markers for board games. Empty food boxes from a grocery store can be carefully cut to flatten for the suitcase and then reassembled in the classroom when we set up our grocery store or market. Restaurant menus are also a great addition when learning food items and make a restaurant theatre class more authentic. Finally keep your eyes open for children's magazines and/or children's books. Although the students' vocabulary is limited at this point in their language studies, often illustrations and pictures are very different from what we read here, giving the students a special insight into the culture.
Have a wonderful trip - ¡Buen viaje!
¡Muchas gracias!
Sra. de Moxó
